About Sari Sauls
Sari has been interested in art from an early age, primarily focused on painting and drawing. She picked up her first camera when she was a sophomore in High School and took a darkroom photography class. At that point she used her camera as a tool to help her create her art; painting and drawing from the photographs. When the personal computer and digital cameras were introduced she taught herself Photoshop and her passion for creating artistic photography grew. Sari is inspired by textures and color in nature, looking at her subjects from different angles and using natural light to get that perfect shot. She uses High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography merging at least 3 different exposures to create 3-D looking images. She also layers textures over her images to create “grunge” artwork. Although the bulk of her work is mainly in photography, she enjoys working in watercolors and colored pencils. Her award winning artwork and photographs have been juried into exhibits both locally and regionally. Sari has a degree in Commercial Art and Design Technology and is the current President of the Art Guild of Person County in Roxboro, NC.
